DAYS Discover five Galapagos Islands 4-8
Over the next five days you’ll enjoy morning
and afternoon expeditions to explore a variety
of landing sites throughout the islands. Traveling all the way to the remote western
edge of the Galapagos, you’ll even step ashore on Fernandina – the youngest island in the archipelago formed a mere 700,000 years ago! With our expert naturalists and no more than 16 guests in a landing party, you’ll thrill to up-close wildlife encounters and learn much about the flora, fauna and geology of the islands including:
• Isabela: Exploring the island’s rugged coast reveals colonies of sea lions, flightless cormorants, fur seals and Nazca boobies.
• Fernandina: A one-mile walk at Punta Espinoza reveals a rich variety of wildlife including sea lions, sally light foot crabs, penguin and hawks.
• Rabida: The stunning red sand beaches of this tiny island are home to marine iguanas and several species of Darwin’s finches.
• Santa Cruz: Visit the Charles Darwin Research Centerandventureintothehighlandstosee giant Galapagos tortoises in their native habitat.
• Floreana: Settled in the early 1900’s this is one of only four inhabited islands in the Galapagos. Exploring the north shore by Zodiac offers a chance to see raucous sea lions, marine turtles, rays and Galapagos penguins. Cormorant Point is a great place to snorkel, kayak, or ride in our glass-bottom boat.
