As you travel the George Parks
and Glenn Highways into the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, you’ll discover a land of pure Alaska wilderness – towering peaks, deep glacier valleys, pristine rivers and abundant wildlife! On a private visit to a Musk Ox Farm here in the valley, you’ll get up close to these Ice Age mammals and learn about the pioneering work to preserve this once-endangered animal. After lunch featuring the valley’s farm-to-table bounty, you’ll tour the Alaska Native Heritage Center with a Native Alaskan. Continue on the Seward Highway as it hugs the coast between the jagged peaks of the Chugach Mountains and the waters of the Turnagain Arm. Arrive in the town of Girdwood and check in to the Hotel Alyeska. meals b+l

Kenai Fjords DAY 8 | Wildlife Cruise
As you journey around the end of the Turnagain Arm and southward over the Kenai Mountains, keep your eyes peeled for bald eagles, moose and Dall Sheep. Arrive Seward for an afternoon cruise into breathtaking Resurrection Bay and Kenai Fjords National Park – home to calving glaciers and the massive Harding Ice Field. These waters are teeming with marine life including stellar sea lions, harbor seals, Dall porpoises, walruses and a variety of whales – Humpback, Orca and Minke. Return to the Hotel Alyeska and refresh before our farewell dinner. meals b+l+d

Explore Fairbanks
choice. You can choose a gentle 2-hour nature walk or a 6-hour hike deep into the wilds of Denali. Mountain biking, fly fishing and gold panning excursions are also available. meals b+l+d
Deluxe dome rail DAY 5 | to Talkeetna
Make the return journey along
the Denali Park Road and board the Wilderness Express train, again with deluxe seats in the upper level dome car. Enjoy lunch and take in the dramatic views as you cross Hurricane Gulch on a 914-foot long bridge. Arrive Talkeetna and check in to the Talkeetna Alaska Lodge, set on a ridge with views of North America’s tallest peak. meals b+l
DAY6 Chooseyour | adventure
Tailor the morning to your taste for adventure with one of our included expeditions: A Jet Boat Ride on the Susitna River offers views of the Alaska Range and a chance to espy beavers, bald eagles and other wildlife. Or set out on our thrilling Zipline Adventure and explore the boreal forest on a network of 9 ziplines and 3 suspension bridges. Enjoy a free afternoon or join an optional Flightseeing Tour around the 20,000-foot peak of Denali. meals b+l
