DAY 4 | Unique art + Amazing birds Go ashore in Djúpivogur to see its fine old
homes and to experience its cultural scene. Unique outdoor art installations and the Cultural Center are highlights. Back onboard, navigate along Iceland’s eastern coast where deep fjords, steep mountains and pristine waterfalls will enthrall you. This afternoon, a guided hike on Hafnarhólmi offers a chance to observe the puffins, eiders, kittiwakes and fulmars that nest here. meals b+l +d
DAY 5 | Skjálfandi Bay + Grimsey Having rounded Iceland’s northeast corner,
we navigate this morning into Skjálfandi Bay where humpback and minke whales are often spotted. Huge blue and sperm whales also feed in the Bay. This afternoon finds us on Grimsey Island, home to 100 people and thousands of birds including Atlantic puffin, back guillemot, common murre, wheatear, snow bunting and large tern colonies.

DAY 6 | Hrísey + Akureyri
This morning finds us deep in the majestic
Eyjafjörður, where you’ll enjoy a Zodiac landing on Hrisey, an island in the middle of the fjord. Visit the settlement of 200 residents and explore the surrounding grasslands, home to ptarmigans and eiders. From the lively port of Akureyri, A+R guests will enjoy an excursion to see the beautiful Godafoss Waterfall. You’ll also experience the island’s powerful geothermal forces
as you discover steaming fumaroles, bubbling mud pools, and the fascinating lava landscapes that surround Lake Mývatn. meals b+l+d
DAY 7 | The magnificent Westfjords An unforgettable day unfolds as we explore
the Westfjords, a pristine peninsula on the island’s northwest coast. Sailing off the ruggedly beautiful coast of the Hornstrandir Nature Reserve, we’ll have a chance to spot whales and seals. Venturing into Hornvik Bay, we’ll see soaring cliffs where millions of seabirds nest. A guided walk on Vigur Island offers breathtaking views of mountains, sea and sky and a chance to marvel at the aerial acrobatics of soaring Arctic terns. meals b+l+d
DAY 8 | The pristine western coast Early this morning, our ship navigates
past Látrabjarg Cliff. Rising 1,400 feet
from the Atlantic, these rocky faces are home to millions of seabirds including puffins, northern gannets and razorbills. After breakfast, go ashore on Flatey Island, where no cars are allowed, to immerse in its tranquil ambience of farms and colorful summer homes. In the afternoon, discover the dramatic cliffs, lava fields and rocky beaches of the Snaefellsne Peninsula. At its western tip, the glacier-topped peak of the Snæfellsjökull Volcano soars to 5,000 feet. meals b+l+d
DAY 9 | Disembark in Reykjavik
After stepping off the ship, we’ll take you to
the Alda Hotel. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy in this friendly city. meals b
